Justin Julian receives Undergraduate Education Summer Research Fellowship

Posted:

BME junior Justin Julian was awarded an Undergraduate Education Summer 2014 Research Fellowship, so he can continue his research in Dr. Rita Alevriadou's laboratory. Justin is investigating the molecular mechanisms that regulate cytosolic calcium homeostasis in vascular endothelial cells exposed to fluid mechanical shear stress. His work may lead to novel drug development for better treatment of atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases. In 2013, he was the recipient of an Undergraduate Honors Thesis Scholarship. Besides doing research, Justin has been volunteering at the OSUWMC Martha Morehouse Tower as a patient ambassador.
