Writing an effective NSF proposal-  what is your sales pitch?

Abstract:

This seminar will examine how to move from a program solicitation to a proposal, including how to address intellectual merit and broader impacts requirements for NSF proposals

Bio:

Dr Joyce Fernandes recently completed a 2 year assignment at the National Science Foundation, in the Division of Biological Infrastructure, where she managed programs in Instrument Development for Biological  Research (IDBR) and Major Research Instrumentation (MRI). She is a faculty member in the Biology Department at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she teaches courses in Cell Biology, Developmental Biology and Neurobiology. Her research interests are in the area of motor system remodelling in the fruit-fly, Drosophila melanogaster.  She is affiliated with Education Committees of the Genetics Society of America, and the American Society for Cell Biology, and serves as Biology Councillor for the Council on Undergraduate Research.
