Graduate student Hansong Zeng and Dr. Yi Zhao, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering, received the Best Poster Awards at a recent ASME conference. The poster introduced a novel concept of motion sensing using liquid droplet, a bioinspired engineering solution with much lower cost and improved performance comparing to current technologies.

The poster, titled “Biomimetic Liquid State Inertial Sensor” was displayed at the 2010 American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ (ASME) International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE): Society-Wide Micro/Nano Technology Forum. The conference  was held from November 12-18 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
