Biomedical Engineering is the Top College Major with a Future for Students

 

Biomedical engineering is the top field with a future, according to a US News and World Report article that was recently published. The article states that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics names biomedical engineering the fastest-growing occupation between 2008 and 2018, with a 72 percent rate of job growth.

Several universities across the country are rolling out undergraduate BME programs. The BME undergraduate program, at The Ohio State University, was approved in Autumn 2008, had its first graduates in 2011. With the start of this autumn semester, the program is now at its capacity. Our undergraduate program in Biomedical Engineering has recently been accredited by ABET.

ABET is the recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. ABET is a federation of more than 25 professional and technical societies representing these fields. Among the most respected accreditation organizations in the U.S., ABET has provided leadership and quality assurance in higher education for over 70 years.
