Adeli Presents Distinguished Lecture for Biomedical and Rehabilitation Engineering Seminar in Hong Kong
On November 15, 2012, Dr. Hojjat Adeli will present a lecture titled "Automated EEG-based Diagnosis of Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders" at The Hong Kong Polythechnic University, for the Biomedical and Rehabilitation Engineering Seminar.
The following is the abstract for the presentation: A research ideology, a novel multi-paradigm methodology, and advanced computational models are presented for automated electroencephalogram (EEG)-based diagnosis of neurological and psychiatric disorders. The methodology is based on adroit integration of three different computing technologies and problem solving paradigms: neural networks, wavelets, and the chaos theory. Examples of the research performed by the author and his associates for automated diagnosis of epilepsy, the Alzheimer’s Disease, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are discussed.
Adeli is currently an Abba G. Lichtenstein Professor here at Ohio State and has appointments in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Neurological Surgery, and Neuroscience.
Adeli will also be presenting a Keynote Lecutre at The 8th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Security (CIS) in Guangzhou, China on November 17, 2012.
