College of Engineering 16th Annual Distinguished Faculty Awards

The College of Engineering annually honors faculty members for their teaching and research. The 2013 awardees were honored on April 24, in The Blackwell ballroom.

The BME Department would like to congratulate and recognize faculty members who received awards this year:

Lumley Interdisciplinary Research Award

Stephen C. Lee, PhD, BME Associate Professor 

In honor of John H. Lumley, a 1927 graduate of ceramic engineering, this team award was established in 2002 to recognize interdisciplinary research accomplishments of the college faculty and research staff.

Lumley Research Awards

Derek J. Hansford, PhD, BME and MSE Associate Professor

Heather M. Powell, PhD, BME and MSE Assistant Professor

The Lumley Engineering Research Awards are presented to a select group of outstanding researchers in the College of Engineering, who have shown exceptional activity and success in pursuing new knowledge of a fundamental or applied nature.

Harrison Faculty Award for Excellence in Engineering Education

Jessica O. Winter, PhD, BME and CBE Associate Professor

In honor of Stan Harrison, a 1958 Ohio State graduate in electrical engineering, this award is based on excellence in teaching and qualitative aspects of teaching, exceptional research, or a single or unique contribution to engineering or architecture concepts.
