Congratulations to the Newly Established BME Honorary Society: Alpha Eta Mu Beta (OSU Chapter)

Posted:

The Ohio State University, has established a new BME honorary society chapter, Alpha Eta Mu Beta (AEMB). This honorary society is nationally recognized and open to the highest achieving undergraduate and graduate BME students at Ohio State. AEMB is very competitive and highly regarded with only the upper one third of the senior class and one fifth of the junior class eligible for induction. Graduate students must hold a 3.75 GPA and be in the upper one third of eligible graduate students in order to be inducted.

AEMB events throughout the year will include journal clubs, sessions with BME seminar speakers, lab technical skills workshops, volunteer opportunities, social events, and more. After members graduate they will forever be recognized as a national AEMB member at other schools with an AEMB chapter for life.

Invitations to eligible members have been sent out and the deadline for acceptance is Friday, September 20th. After acceptances have been received, there will be an induction ceremony the following week of the 23rd. We are really excited to get this organization going with our first member induction class!

AEMB Board (OSU Chapter):

Meagan Ita (President)

Mike Wolfe (Vice President)

Anja Brkljacic (Treasurer)

Connor Pyles (Secretary)

Dr. Tom Hund (Faculty Advisor)
