The Department of Biomedical Engineering’s 2016 Annual Awards Picnic

On Friday, April 15th, the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Ohio State University Student Chapter, hosted the annual, end-of-the-year awards picnic. The event recognized the outstanding faculty, staff and students of BME. 

This year the BME honors and awards committee created the BME Chair's Award for Outstanding Contribution, a new award that recognizes exceptional above and beyond service to the department by faculty, staff and students.

Faculty Award

  • Herman R. Weed Excellence in Teaching Award – Derek Hansford

 

Staff Award

  • Vladimir O. Marukhlenko Staff of the Year Award – Lindsay Tolchin

 

Special Awards

  • BME Chair's Award for Outstanding Contribution –  Mark Calhoun, Ela Onal, Lauren Cosby and Peter Amaya

 

Undergraduate Student Awards

  • Junior Outstanding Scholar Award - Hayes Davis
  • Senior Outstanding Scholar Award - Eric Salomon, Samuel Seelbach, Anirudh Tarimala 
  • Research Achievement Award - Benjamin Albert
  • Undergraduate Service Award - Lindsay Seibel
  • Senior Leadership Award - Emily Bodamer and Alyse Krausz
  • Biomedical Engineering Society Scholarship Award –  Kevin Unkrich and Teresa Porter
