Biomedical Engineering Associate Professor Thomas Hund
Dr. Thomas Hund
and Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute (DHLRI) Director Peter Mohler have been awarded $1.6 million to investigate spectrin-based regulation of cardiac remodeling and heart failure. The award is a National Institute of Health (NIH) R01 grant which historically provides support for health-related research and development.

The goal of Hund’s research is to define new regulatory pathways underlying adverse remodeling in heart failure and to test whether they may be manipulated for therapeutic benefit.  This is to help the 5.7 million Americans that are affected by heart failure.

Congratulations Drs. Hund and Mohler!
