Engineering in Healthcare Industry & Research Symposium

Posted:

On February 8th, the 4th Annual Engineering in Healthcare Industry and Research Symposium (EHIRS) took place. EHIRS is a BMES and BMEGSA organized event designed to connect students and their research with industry representatives. EHIRS was highlighted this year by  Keynote speaker, Colin Drummond, professor and assistant chair in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, from Case Western University Reserve. Dr. Drummond discussed his uniquely varied path through industry and finally into academia, following his heart and desire to learn. His talk was followed up by podium talks from three of our graduate students: Youjin Cho, Shelley Gooden and Heather Struckman. The afternoon was filled with discourse with our industry representatives featuring an enlightening industry panel, networking and closed out with students' poster presentations.
