Posted:

Congratulations to the BMES Student Chapter at Ohio State for being awarded another prestigious outstanding chapter award from the BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society) national organization. This year’s award recognition is the Outstanding Mentoring Award. "Our Chapter Development Report received the highest points for our mentorship program compared to all other chapters in the nation," says Arnav Divekar, BMES OSU student chapter officer.

The chapter award includes a $1000 travel stipend for two officers to attend the 2021 BMES Annual Meeting in Orlando, an award trophy, and tickets to the Student Chapter Awards breakfast. One member will also be part of a student panel on how to have Chapter success.

The mentorship program was headed by Connor Neifert last year and focused on developing peer relationships between students interested in the BME field. This academic year the mentorship program will be headed by Ellie Guilfoyle,  she hopes to expand the program as we transition back to in-person events following the pandemic shutdown.

The BMES Student Chapter at Ohio State is advised by Drs. Mark Ruegsegger and Alexis Ortiz-Rosario.

CONGRATULATIONS BMES OSU student chapter for another amazing year!!!
