College of Engineering honors BME faculty at annual awards ceremony

The College of Engineering annually honors faculty and researchers for outstanding teaching, research and outreach at the Distinguished Faculty Awards. The 2018 awardees were recognized on April 26, in the Blackwell Ballroom. This year two of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) faculty members were celebrated for their excellence.

 

Faculty Diversity Excellence Award

College of Engineering and Assistant Professor of Practice, Department of Biomedical Engineering — For excellence in promoting diversity and creating an environment and organizational culture in which all individuals are accepted, respected and valued.

This award recognizes an individual or team demonstrating excellence and success in the development and implementation of models, strategies, practices and programs that foster and enhance diversity in the college.

 

 

Innovators Award 

Jessica Winter, PhD, Professor, Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and Biomedical Engineering — For her development of fluorescent and magnetic nanoparticles for clinical diagnostic applications.

This award recognizes the achievements of an individual or team whose innovation has successfully translated the research emanating from our laboratories into new products and/or technologies that can be used by the public at large.
