Nina Tang awarded the eCM conference AO Spine best oral presentation award!

Congratulations to Shirley (Nina) Tang who won the eCM (eCells and Materials) Conference AO Spine Best Oral Presentation Award for her presentation entitled “FOXF1 delivery via Extracellular Vesicles in an in vivo mouse model of discogenic back pain”. The eCM Conference is hosted annually in Davos, Switzerland by the AO Foundation with rotating topics surrounding Musculoskeletal diseases and repair.

This year, the conference took place from the 15th-18th of June, 2022 and focused on Cartilage & Intervertebral Disc Repair and Regeneration with participants from all around the globe who share their novel work and discussion ranging from cellular therapies, bioreactors, hydrogel-based treatments for Osteoarthritis and disc. Shirley (Nina) Tang, is advised by Dr. Devina Purmessur. This work was in collaboration with Ana I Salazar-Puerta (BME), advised by Dr. Higuita-Castro (BME) who are co-first authors and co-corresponding authors. Co-authors in this interdisciplinary project include Mary Heimann (BME), Gillian Gunsch (Biomedical Sciences), Connor Gantt (BME), Tiffany Ko (Pharmacy), Kyle Kuchynsky (BME), Damien Laudier (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai), Dr. Safdar Khan (Wexner Medical Center, Orthopaedics), Dr. Judith Hoyland (The University of Manchester), Dr. Benjamin Walter (BME), and Dr. Kokiko-Cochran (Neuroscience).
